Firm Experience & Placements

Investment Banking Simulation

Learn investment banking by actually doing it.

Our flagship program is a semester-long investment banking simulation that mirrors the structure, intensity, and decision-making rhythms of an authentic Wall Street deal team, giving students hands-on exposure to the full deal process.

Managing Directors (MDs)

Provide overall direction for the club's simulated deals. They guide project teams, coordinate with upperclassmen mentors, and make final decisions on pitch strategies. MDs ensure the club's programs mirror real-world investment banking at a high level.

Vice Presidents (VPs)

Oversee day-to-day execution of each deal simulation. VPs manage timelines, mentor junior members, and help refine the narrative behind each pitch. They serve as the link between senior leadership and the teams doing deep analytical work.

Associates

Translate strategic guidance into actionable tasks. Associates review and refine financial models, draft key materials, and coach Analysts through technical concepts. They help connect big-picture thinking with detailed analysis.

Analysts

Focus on the technical foundations of each project. Analysts build comps, DCFs, and precedent transaction analyses, and prepare supporting slides for pitches. This role immerses students in the core skills expected of real investment banking analysts.

How It Works

Each "bank" works on deals inspired by real transactions, from M&A to LBOs and capital raises. Teams are given:

  • A realistic company profile and industry backdrop
  • Historical financials and operating data
  • Market conditions and strategic objectives from the "client"

From there, banks compete to:

  • Build the most compelling pitch
  • Develop robust and defensible models
  • Propose creative, realistic structures
  • Generate the highest risk-adjusted return and "profit" for their client

At the end of each deal cycle, teams present to a panel of "clients" and guest judges. Performance is tracked over the semester, and the bank that generates the strongest outcomes — and justifies them best — comes out on top.

Members walk away with:
Reps building real IB-style models and decks
Experience working on tight timelines in deal teams
A clear understanding of what each IB role actually does
Concrete talking points for interviews, coffee chats, and networking
